"If you truly do love Chris Brown, then you felt everythingthat has gone on with him." That's what Usher says in the trailer for Welcome to My Life, an upcoming documentary about Brown's career and personal life.
Incidentally, even if you don't love Chris Brown, you've likely felt the reverberations from his troubled history, which is now inextricably linked to domestic violence and assault.
SEE ALSO:'The Daily Show' cancels Chris Brown interviewThe provocative trailer begins with a TV screen that apparently tells the story of Brown's career through testimonials from his peers. But as the camera pulls back, we see more screens sporting grainy footage of Brown in police custody and Rihanna recovering after his abuse was exposed.

The documentary, directed by Andrew Sandler, features interviews with a host of Brown's contemporaries and other celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, DJ Khaled, Mike Tyson, Jamie Foxx and Brown's own mother.
Brown has a history of violence and arrest for assault, including the 2009 case for hospitalizing Rihanna and a 2014 incident in Washington during his probation. In 2015, he canceled a tour of Australia after petitions and backlash from the country's anti-violence campaigns. Months before the cancellation, Brown tweeted that he was looking forward to raising awareness about domestic violence and helping others learn from his mistakes.
Chris Brown: Welcome to My Life is produced by Riveting Entertainment. Its release date has not yet been announced.
