此前 ，西媒登貝萊隨法國隊參加歐洲杯 ，登贝他在法國1-1戰平匈牙利的接受比賽中替補上場 ，隨後因傷被換下。手术在法國隊醫與巴薩醫療團隊溝通後確認 ，治疗至少阵登貝萊無法出戰歐洲杯剩餘比賽 。西媒這使得登貝萊隻能提前告別歐洲杯，登贝本屆歐洲杯 ，接受他總共出場2次，手术都是治疗至少阵替補出場 ，共計出場31分鍾 。
離開國家隊後 ，登貝萊返回巴薩接受了相關檢查 。檢查結果顯示 ，登貝萊必須要進行手術 ，這意味著他將錯過2021-22賽季的開局階段 。在此前結束的賽季 ，巴薩在聯賽和歐冠的戰績都不算太理想 ，聯賽中巴薩多次錯失登頂的機會 ，最終落後於馬競和皇馬 ，僅收獲第三名；在歐冠賽場 ，他們被大巴黎淘汰出局。上個賽季 ，登貝萊代表巴薩在聯賽中出戰30場，打進6粒進球 ，送出3次助攻。目前 ，24歲的登貝萊與巴薩的合同還有一年到期 ，據西班牙多家媒體報道 ，登貝萊無意續約，巴薩則打算在夏季轉會窗將他出售，以此來補充球隊的轉會資金 。
