北京時間6月24日18點，亚冠2021賽季亞洲冠軍聯賽J組小組賽首輪 ，前瞻廣州隊與大阪櫻花隊的广州比賽將在泰國武裏南體育場進行 。以青年軍出征的队青廣州隊在少帥劉智宇的帶領下 ，將麵對整體實力強出一截的年军大阪櫻花隊 ，打出精神麵貌、出征踢出自身風格或許是首战現實目標。
兩屆亞冠冠軍廣州隊此次出征泰國 ，抗日看作是结果由今年新上任的預備隊主教練劉智宇帶隊 ，球隊平均年齡更是亚冠不足20歲 ，是前瞻以預備隊球員和恒大足校小將組成 。楊德江、广州李星賢 、队青吳俊豪 、年军陳鄭鋒這4名已經進入過本賽季中超23人比賽名單的出征球員已經算是這支廣州隊的“大牌” 。賽前 ，亞足聯官網便將17歲的楊德江列為球隊核心 。
雖然這支廣州隊的部分球員剛參加完中國U21聯賽第一階段的賽事 ，取得3勝1平1負的戰績 ，但像亞冠這樣的洲際賽事對他們來說還是非常陌生的 ，因此德國轉會市場網站為這支“娃娃軍”的總身價估價隻有50萬歐元，而大阪櫻花隊總身價是1735萬歐元 。由於疫情和其他方麵的影響 ，廣州隊以青年軍出戰也是不得已而為之 ，並且俱樂部方麵也表示不以小組出線為成績考核 。
不過首戰便遇上大阪櫻花隊 ，對於廣州隊來說絕非是好事 。盡管此前廣州隊4次與這支J聯賽球隊交鋒取得了2勝1平1負的戰績，但現在這支隊伍可能需要做到的是避免大比分輸球 。目前中超球隊在亞冠賽場的最慘痛失利是2005年深圳健力寶0-6不敵阿爾艾因 ，至於廣州隊在亞冠賽事的最懸殊失利則是2017賽季1/4決賽首回合0-4不敵上海上港 。廣州隊是於6月21日下午飛赴泰國 ，提前三天抵達進行適應備戰 。
大阪櫻花隊 ，是上賽季J聯賽第四名的球隊 ，是因為澳超球隊退出本屆亞冠賽事 ，所以無需打資格賽便直接晉級到了正賽小組賽階段，這是他們繼2018賽季之後首次 ，也是俱樂部曆史上第4次出戰亞冠聯賽的比賽。
目前這支隊伍是由68歲的巴西老帥庫爾皮領軍 ，他是今年2月份才接手球隊 ，不過他在1997年、2007年至2011年 、2012年-2013年有過多次執教大阪櫻花的經曆 。目前 ，大阪櫻花隊在國內聯賽中排名中遊 。
此次大阪櫻花隊基本是主力陣容出戰 ，像清武弘嗣 、老將大久保嘉人 ，澳大利亞外援塔格特都隨隊出征 ，並且他們比廣州隊早一天到達泰國 。從整體實力來看 ，大阪櫻花隊要強過廣州隊不少。現在隻希望廣州隊的小夥子們能夠打出自己的真實水準 ，在泰國刮起一波青春風暴 。（卓奧友）
