北京時間2月7日 ，诺伊拜仁官方突然傳出了諾伊爾接受右膝關節手術的尔接消息 。拜仁官方表示 ，受膝术恐諾伊爾在周日成功接受了右膝關節手術 ，盖手將在未來的休战幾周內缺陣 。
在上周末對陣萊比錫的到周比賽中 ，諾伊爾還代表拜仁首發出場 ，欧冠並拿到了生涯第310場德甲勝利 ，合成追平了俱樂部傳奇卡恩保持多年的诺伊紀錄 。據《圖片報》的尔接消息 ，諾伊爾在比賽中並沒有出現太大的受膝术恐問題。
不過《圖片報》同時表示 ，盖手雖然諾伊爾不是休战在比賽中遭遇了突發性傷病 ，但膝蓋問題實際已困擾了他很久了 。到周在過去的欧冠幾周裏 ，諾伊爾曾多次中途退出訓練 ，並減小了訓練強度 。
根據記者Florian Plettenberg的消息，諾伊爾接受的是半月板手術，並將因此缺陣3到4周的時間。而《圖片報》則透露 ，諾伊爾將休戰4到6周 ，鐵定無緣歐冠淘汰賽首回合的比賽 。而如果諾伊爾需要休戰6周 ，那麽次回合的比賽也無法參加 。在歐冠淘汰賽中 ，拜仁的對手是薩爾茨堡紅牛 ，首回合比賽將在北京時間2月17日4:00開戰 ，次回合將在北京時間3月9日4:00開戰 ，拜仁擁有先客後主的優勢 。
諾伊爾本人在接受手術後 ，也在社交媒體上報了平安 ，“嘿 ，夥計們 。今天我完成了一個小的膝蓋手術 ，一切都很順利 。很快就能重回賽場了 。”
