不過，最終替熱刺將優勢轉化為勝勢的還是凱恩。他在第81分鍾接替補上陣的理查利森傳中頭球破門，個人梅開二度。至此 ，凱恩在英超賽場上陣286次，射入187球 ，與安迪·科爾並列英超曆史射手榜第三 ，僅次於射入260球的阿蘭·希勒和208球的魯尼 。
此役 ，雙方的控球率為56%比44% ，射門17比18，射正1比7 ，熱刺的控球率雖然低於對手 ，射門也僅多1次 ，但射正次數優勢明顯 ，表明其進攻質量明顯更高 。
賽後 ，熱刺主教練孔蒂表示 ：“我們並不感到驚訝，因為很清楚諾丁漢森林能夠帶來的壓力 ，來到這裏並獲得3分是很困難的 ，更何況現在我們又取得了一場零封 。”
