Even as Will & Grace,Full House, Roseanne, and every other show we watched in the '90s mounts a comeback, Friendshas stubbornly remained in our past.
And star David Schwimmer, for one, is just fine with that.
SEE ALSO:Lisa Kudrow does not know what to make of that fake 'Friends' movie trailerSchwimmer was asked about the possibility of a Friendsreunion during an appearance on Megyn Kelly Today, and his reply is bound to disappoint anyone hoping for a return trip to Central Perk.
"I doubt it. I really do," he admitted. What's more, he's not even sure he wantsa return for Friends: "I just don't know if I want to see all of us with like crutches, like walkers."
Schwimmer isn't alone in his lack of interest in a Friendsreunion. His old co-stars haven't sounded much more optimistic.
Lisa Kudrow voiced her skepticism on Conanjust last week, pointing out, "I mean, that was about people in their 20s, 30s. Well, the show isn’t about people in their 40s, 50s. And if we have the same problems, then that’s just sad. That’s not fun."
And a few months earlier, Matt LeBlanc admitted he thinks a Friendsreboot would be a bad idea. “That show was about a finite period in people’s lives, after school and before you get married,” he said. “That time where your friends are your support system. And once that time’s over, that time’s over.”
Schwimmer had appeared on Megyn Kelly Todaywith writer-director Sigal Avin to discuss their new series of anti-harassment PSAs, and he also took the opportunity to stress how important it was for men to speak out about sexual harassment and assault.
"I certainly understand why, right now, in the current climate, men are reluctant to come forward and speak. Which is a shame, because nothing's gonna be accomplished without dialogue," he said. "So part of our goal is to really try to bring men into the conversation."
