在比賽進行至第10分鍾的挥舞時候 ，場邊的激动曼聯球迷高舉著身穿曼聯球衣的C羅人形立牌 ，同時還揮舞著手中的葡萄牙國旗 。他們的意圖也是非常明顯，那就是希望C羅能夠早日再度幫助曼聯在賽場攻城拔寨 。
與此同時，整場比賽現場導播也在不停的尋找C羅元素 ，在看台上 ，揮舞葡萄牙國旗的球迷大有人在 ，還有球迷身穿葡萄牙球衣。有意思的是，在比賽進行至第30分鍾的時候 ，現場導播將鏡頭給到了場邊的弗格森以及現場揮舞的葡萄牙國旗 。
的確 ，如今的曼聯在鋒線的位置上缺乏一個絕對的箭頭人物 。在拉什福德受傷無法出場之際 ，馬夏爾的狀態還有待提升的情況下 ，曼聯更多的是通過格林伍德頂在最前麵攻城拔寨 。雖然“青木球王”已經連續三輪破門 ，但格林伍德在前場的作用自然不能與C羅同日而語 。在曼聯成功收購C羅之後 ，紅魔在攻擊端的問題似乎可以很好的實現解決 。
值得一提的是，本場比賽曼聯在下半場換上了卡瓦尼，當時卡瓦尼身披了7號球衣出戰，這也意味著C羅回到曼聯之後無法在本賽季的英超賽場上穿上7號球衣了 。但對於C羅來說 ，無論身後的號碼是不是7號 ，隻要有他在場上，曼聯就多了一分勝利的保障 。
