《紐約時報》則報道稱，皇馬 、巴薩和尤文 ，將通過法律手段起訴退出歐超的9家俱樂部，並索要經濟賠償。在12家初始俱樂部簽署歐超合同時，合同中針對退出情況有明文規定的處罰條款 。違約金為上賽季歐超聯賽中收入的50% ，再加上1.5億歐元，或者過去4個賽季收入的25% 。
