在這種背景下 ，尤文在歐冠第四輪小組賽迎來了澤尼特的挑戰 ，這場比賽非常關鍵，畢竟一旦贏球的話 ，尤文就可以提前鎖定出線資格 ，而且一場勝利也會極大的鼓舞三輪意甲不勝的尤文的士氣 。
尤文開場後就展現了極大的勝利渴望 ，多次製造有威脅的進攻 ，並最終在比賽第11分鍾就由迪巴拉打入一球。盡管隨後因為烏龍球被追平 ，但是在下半場比賽 ，尤文連續打入三個進球 ，並最終在主場4-2獲勝。賽後 ，迪巴拉興奮的表示 ：“我們像一支出色的球隊那樣踢球，並取得了一個積極的結果 。我們達成了第一個目標 ，現在我們想要去倫敦 ，拿到小組頭名。”
而需要指出的是 ，這場比賽也是尤文本賽季第一次在單場打入四個進球 ，此前的比賽 ，尤文最多也就是單場打入三球 。
