北京時間8月20日，汗体據包括BBC 、育教育局獨立報和雅虎新聞在內的证实坠亡者系多家國外媒體報道 ，阿富汗當局證實，位扒一名阿富汗國家青年足球隊隊員紮基·安瓦裏 (Zaki Anwari) ，美军在試圖搭上離開喀布爾機場的飞机美國軍用飛機C-17運輸機後墜落身亡 。
據BBC報道 ，国青安瓦裏何時去世的阿富更多細節尚未披露。
19歲的汗体安瓦裏曾為阿富汗國家青年隊效力。在社交網絡上的育教育局最後一篇帖子中，這位少年寫道 ：“你是证实坠亡者系你生命中的畫家。不要把畫筆給其他人 。位扒”
阿富汗體育教育總局在另一則社交網絡帖子中表示 ：“安瓦裏在一次事故中從空中墜落並失去了生命 ，美军他是飞机數百名想要離開這個國家的年輕人之一。願他在天堂安息 ，為他的家人 、朋友和體育同事向上帝祈禱 。”阿富汗體育教育總局確認了遇難者身份 。

此外 ，不少視頻顯示，飛機起飛後 ，有2個黑影從飛機上落下；還有人被困在飛機外部 ，他似乎被起落架艙的艙門夾住 ，飛行過程中 ，遺體在空中劇烈擺動 。
此後 ，美國空軍也證實 ，在C-17運輸機的起落架內發現人類殘骸。
