據《鏡報》轉載的情绪球迷清晰某埃弗頓球迷賬號的視頻顯示 ，在走進球員通道時 ，失控手机C羅疑似一巴掌將一名球迷的怒摔手機拍打在了地上 。在視頻中 ，C羅有一個明顯的彎腰向下發力的動作 ，可見葡萄牙人對於本場比賽的結果是有多麽的不滿 。
實際上C羅本場比賽不可謂不拚命 。在現場拍攝的一張照片中 ，褪下球襪拿掉護腿板的C羅 ，其左腿有一道非常明顯的血痕。在有護腿板保護的情況下還被傷成這樣 ，埃弗頓球員的凶狠和C羅的拚命都可見一斑。
事實上 ，曼聯遭遇各項賽事3場不勝 ，而C羅也在這3場比賽中遭遇零封。0-1不敵馬競 、1-1戰平萊斯特城、0-1不敵埃弗頓的3場比賽，除了對陣萊斯特城因病缺席外 ，C羅都沒能取得進球 。而即便是在期間的國際比賽日中 ，C羅在2場世預賽歐洲區附加賽中也隻有1次助攻入賬 ，葡萄牙人上一次進球還要追溯至將近一個月前，在3-2擊敗熱刺一役中上演帽子戲法了。
