西班牙小組賽前兩場比賽取得兩連平，出線形勢並不樂觀 。回击談起西班牙隊的范德法特比賽情況 ，荷蘭名宿範德法特評論稱 ，伊涅“西班牙踢得太糟糕了 ，斯塔时旁太糟糕了。绝杀我真希望荷蘭能碰上西班牙 。科克這支西班牙什麽都沒有，回击唯一能做的范德法特事情就是從一頭傳到另一頭 ，沒有一名球員能傳出最後的伊涅關鍵一傳 。”
範德法特的斯塔时旁評論 ，或許會讓西班牙國腳們聽著刺耳。绝杀日前接受采訪時，科克西班牙隊的回击科克對範德法特的評論給出了回應，“我尊重他的范德法特意見 。我能說什麽呢 ？我看過他的不少比賽，比如西班牙對陣荷蘭的那場決賽 。在西班牙足協這裏 ，我們能看到一張伊涅斯塔絕殺進球的照片，範德法特在他身邊 。”
“我隻關心自己的事情 ，而不是別的事情 ，我不希望製造爭議。我們是出色的球員，為出色的球隊效力 ，也贏得了非常重要的榮譽 。我們隊裏有布斯克茨 ，當初世界杯贏荷蘭的時候 ，他就在隊裏。”
