在本期26人國足集訓名單中，歸化球員共有5人——分別是艾克森 、阿蘭 、費南多 、蔣光太（有血緣歸化） 、李可（有血緣歸化） 。
5月9日下午，職業聯盟籌備組臨時召集了16家中超俱樂部 ，進行線上的總經理會議 。
會議決定 ，為支持國家隊備戰世預賽，5月15日廣州賽區河南嵩山龍門vs廣州隊 、5月16日蘇州賽區北京國安vs河北隊的兩場比賽延期舉行，具體調整方案待定 。
這兩場聯賽的延期 ，也意味著前幾天傳出的國腳不參加第五輪聯賽，提前赴國家隊集訓的消息已成既定事實。
國腳提前歸隊集訓 ，好處是可以避免潛在的聯賽受傷風險，同時讓國家隊有更多時間來進行技戰術磨合 。
但弊端也是非常明顯的 ，目前包括蒿俊閔 、費南多這樣有望在國家隊打上比賽的球員 ，都是剛剛從傷病中痊愈，這樣的球員正需要有強度的比賽來刺激狀態。
有圈內人士也對澎湃新聞記者表示 ，訓練對於球員狀態的刺激和提升，遠遠不如正式比賽 。
此外 ，根據《北京青年報》消息 ，如果國足能夠在40強賽餘下4場比賽中保持全勝 ，那麽將獲得累計1200萬元的獎金 。
而參加世預賽備戰的國腳 ，從今年3月首期集訓開始 ，每人每參加1期集訓將獲得10萬元的訓練補助 。
