C羅在2018年的已个月没尤文意媒夏天加盟了尤文，為了得到C羅 ，提及尤文拿出1億歐元的轉會費，同時給C羅提供一份為期四年，稅後年薪3000萬歐元的合同。過去的三個賽季 ，C羅贏得了亞平寧賽場的大滿貫 ，而且贏得了意甲金靴 ，但是在含金量更高的歐冠賽場 ，C羅沒有帶給尤文任何提升 。

C羅雖然對轉會進行了辟謠 ，但是沒有提留守尤文一事。另外根據統計看 ，C羅在最近三個月根本沒有提“尤文” 。在此前發文時 ，C羅曬出的圖中隻有其身穿葡萄牙球衣的照片 ，而沒有身穿尤文球衣的照片。也正是因為如此 ，《足球市場》認為C羅對於留在尤文並不心甘 。
另外尤文新帥阿萊格裏對於C羅也並不太感冒 。在友誼賽3-1擊敗亞特蘭大的比賽後 ，阿萊格裏談起C羅時如此說道 ：“我本計劃給他60分鍾的出場時間 ，但是最終他出場了65分鍾。C羅在比賽中表現得很好，他表現得很專注也很沉著冷靜 ，對我們來說，C羅依然將是我們的一個附加值 。”
