媒體隨後發現 ，盧卡庫的Facebook賬戶上 ，個人簡介中所在俱樂部依然標明為“國際米蘭”而不是切爾西 。網友們紛紛質疑 ：“盧卡庫的Facebook簡介是一直如此還是近期改變了？現在上麵寫的還是國米。”“盧卡庫的賬戶被黑了嗎？為什麽國米會出現在他的Facebook簡介中 ？”“為什麽盧卡庫的Facebook簡介還是國米 ？”
而切爾西主帥圖赫爾在賽後透露 ，自己棄用盧卡庫之前谘詢了隊內的一些資深球員。“我不會在辦公室隻憑借個人想法做出決定 ，我是為了球隊做出決定 ，我會傾聽一些球員的意見和他們的想法 ，之後再做出決定 。不僅是這一次，我們會定期和隊內的五六名球員進行交流 ，了解他們的看法 。這不是我個人的事情 ，我們有一支擁有堅定信念和價值觀的球隊需要保護 。”
圖赫爾接著說：“他的采訪不是切爾西式的 ，但也不是世界上最糟糕的事情 。這不是第一次出現采訪導致一些不必要的噪音，我們可以處理此事，我並不覺得自己受到了人身攻擊。外界的噪音太大 ，可能會讓我們失去對比賽的注意力 。我們隻想保護盧卡庫免受輕率決定的影響 ，因為我們需要和他交談 ，了解這次采訪的完整內容 ，並且保持冷靜不要失去理智。”
圖赫爾表示：“這個決定隻是為了保護這場比賽 ，外界目前的噪音太大了 ，因此他不會出現在名單中 。但盧卡庫依然是我們的球員 ，他會繼續是我們的球員 ，我們將永遠保護我們的球員。我們會在明天（周一）和盧卡庫談談 ，我現在還不能告訴你盧卡庫在周三的比賽是否能出場 ，因為我們需要更多的交談並了解情況 ，然後再做出決定 。”
