在對戰馬競的克洛可复歐冠比賽前，利物浦主帥克洛普在新聞發布會上談到了隊中的普两傷病情況。
首先是大主在5-0戰勝曼聯的比賽中受傷的納比-凱塔和米爾納 ，克洛普表示：“納比-凱塔的力战腿筋受傷了，所以他會缺席一段時間；除此之外 ，马竞米爾納的出凯情況也比較清晰；還有一些正處於長期傷病之中球員 ，他們都不會出現在這場比賽裏 。塔还”

法比尼奧與蒂亞戈都在當地時間周一恢複了全隊合練 ，並且也參加了周二的公開訓練，他們的回歸將為目前比較孱弱的利物浦中場重新注入力量。
自9月18日3-0戰勝水晶宮後 ，蒂亞戈就沒有為利物浦出戰過了 ，而法比尼奧則是因傷情錯過了對陣曼聯的比賽 。
利物浦目前在歐冠B組3戰3勝 ，擊敗了米蘭 、波爾圖和馬競 ，如果他們本場在安菲爾德再戰馬競也能獲勝的話 ，將會提前2輪晉級淘汰賽階段 。
