白國華透露 ：“如果有新的回准集團接手廣州俱樂部，就看這個集團會不會把這個地塊拍下來 。新拍如果沒有人拍這塊地塊 ，卖无城投集團會作為兜底 ，人接拍下這塊土地使用權 。手城”
“恒大估算球場還需要投資60億完工 ，投集团兜城投估算是曝恒80-90億完工 ，雙方算的大球底賬有20億差距 ，所以要接手還需很長一段時間理清賬目 。场已”
從起初被吐槽的被收备重“蓮花”造型，到最後確定下來的回准真容 ，恒大足球場曾因外型設計引發過熱議 。
在公布最終設計方案後 ，不少球員都期待著這朵“蓮冠”早日綻放。
已經離開的前主帥卡納瓦羅 ，近日接受意大利媒體采訪時，還自豪地提及了這座球場 ，我在中國時執教過亞洲最重要的球隊之一 ，這是一段美妙的經曆，不管是在場上還是場下 。我給他們帶來了歐洲足球經驗 ，我還參與過恒大新球場項目 。”
恒大足球場當初的目標是超過巴薩主場諾坎普 ，成為世界最大的頂級專業足球場 。
按原先計劃，恒大足球場總占地約15萬平方米，總建築麵積約30萬平方米 ，總投資超120億人民幣 ，可容納10萬球迷 ，將於2022年底在廣州城南部正式竣工 。
恒大足球場會按照世界最高水準打造 ，將成為世界規模最大 、檔次最高 、配套最全 、科技含量最高 、座位數最多的國際頂級專業足球場。
