《The 工发工资New York Post's Page Six》報道 ，阿布向自己在上流社會的唏嘘朋友們借錢 ，來給自己的曝阿朋友員工們開工資 ，數額達到每月100萬美元 。借万當然 ，美元100萬美元的工发工资數額肯定是不夠支付切爾西球員的薪水的 。阿布借來的這些錢 ，是為了維持自己的那艘豪華遊艇的開支 。
不過阿布方麵的發言人隨即對此進行了否認。在接受《City AM》采訪時 ，阿布的發言人表示：“阿布沒有和這些人說過，也沒有向他們要過錢 。我們已經聯係了這則消息的發布源頭 ，因為他們在發布前 ，並沒有和我們取得過聯係 。”
