佛羅倫薩公告稱 ，到月經過雙方的官方協商 ，決定不再履行此前的加图協議 ，加圖索不會擔任球隊下賽季的索不萨主帅上主帥，俱樂部將開始著手任命新的再担主教練 。
加圖索是任佛任在5月25日宣布離開那不勒斯主帥的職位 ，就在同一天 ，罗伦佛羅倫薩官宣加圖索上任成為球隊的到月新帥 。但是官方加圖索上任不到一個月的時間 ，就宣告離任 。
其中的原因引起了外界的關注 ，據意大利著名記者迪馬濟奧的消息稱，加圖索之所以離任，是因為俱樂部的轉會策略與加圖索以及經紀人門德斯的想法不一致 ，雙方之間產生了問題 ，最後導致分道揚鑣 。
