當地時間8月27日晚8點 ，国足北京時間28日淩晨1點 ，多哈队合中國隊在多哈進行了抵達當地後的首练首次訓練 。包括剛剛領到核酸檢測報告不久的陈戌场督武磊在內 ，隨隊西征的源现32名國腳全部參加了此次訓練。作為中國男足代表團領頭人，军武加全中國足協主席陳戌源也抵達訓練現場 ，磊参练觀看了全隊的国足訓練。訓練場地雖然沒有空調設備 ，多哈队合但草皮質量較高 ，首练中國隊得以在這裏開展高質量的陈戌场督備戰 。
中國隊代表團一行80餘人於當地時間8月26日清晨抵達多哈，源现隨後進駐位於多哈市區的军武加全萬豪酒店 ，並第一時間接受了核酸檢測 。磊参练
按照當地防疫規定的国足要求 ，代表團全員在接受核酸檢測後 ，每人必須在各自獨立的房間內接受不少於12小時的醫學隔離觀察 ，待到所有隔離程序落實完畢 ，且核酸報告結果確認成陰性後 ，方可走出房間 ，但也隻能在有組織的情況下進行防疫閉環內的集體活動 。
也正是因為上述原因 ，中國隊被迫放棄了於當地時間26日晚首次訓練的計劃 。由於12強賽首輪、次輪比賽均安排在多哈當地時間晚上 ，因此中國隊在當地的首訓也安排在當地時間27日晚8點。
中國隊的訓練場地雖然沒有開設空調設備 ，卻也是上賽季亞冠聯賽的比賽場地之一，因此其草皮質量非常高 。由於中國隊此前曾赴阿聯酋沙迦參加40強賽餘下3輪比賽 ，因此對於西亞炎熱的氣候條件 ，他們已經比較適應，也做好了心理準備。
除了請假的鄭錚外 ，入選本期國足集訓陣容的餘下32名國腳全部隨隊參加了28日的多哈首練 。英國籍體能教練阿德裏安·蘭姆也已由英國直接抵達卡塔爾 ，並出現在28日的訓練陣容中。不過，郭田雨 、王秋明兩人因身體有傷，不得不在隊醫陪伴下，在場邊慢跑。這次訓練僅對媒體開放前15分鍾 。從前方情況看 ，國足首次訓練以身體恢複內容為主。
中國隊在多哈的首訓來得有些遲，但經過全團方方麵麵的努力 ，麻煩已被排除 ，困難已被克服 ，全隊在9月2日12強賽首戰開賽前 ，得以進行比較完整的6次室外訓練。比起賽前3 、4天才被允許抵達賽地的對手而言 ，中國隊備戰的質量顯然更有保障 ，這也是球隊打好比賽的重要前提 。
