北京時間6月13日淩晨 ，队医在歐洲杯B組首輪 ，还原还丹麥對陣芬蘭的现场比賽中，埃裏克森在場內突然昏厥跌倒 。埃里經過一係列的克森救治 ，埃裏克森如今轉危為安，脉搏正在醫院等待接受更多的突然停止檢查 。
在當場比賽的队医賽後，丹麥隊醫Morten Boesen向外界還原了當時的还原还現場情況 。Morten Boesen說道 ：“首先我要聲明 ，现场我即將要說的埃里 ，是克森我已經向埃裏克森的家人說過的 。我不會說你們關心的脉搏任何細節 ，我隻會說我看到的突然停止 。”

而英國《每日郵報》，則對曾為埃裏克森體檢的倫敦聖喬治大學醫生進行了采訪 。醫生表示 ，在此前的檢查中 ，埃裏克森的心髒情況良好 ，沒有任何心律不齊的征召 。
“我當時在想 ：‘我的天啊！是有什麽我們之前沒有發現的隱患嗎 ？但我親眼看過所有的檢查結果 ，一切都非常完美。’從我們簽合同的那天起 ，每年我都會給他做檢查，他在2019年前的結果都完全正常 。沒有任何心律不齊的征召 ，我對此可以保證，因為那是我本人親自完成的 。”
