2023年世界羽聯巡回賽第一站的馬來西亞羽毛公開賽今年升級為1000賽事 ，於1月10日至15日在馬來西亞首都吉隆坡舉行 。

1月14日馬來西亞公開賽1/4決賽落幕 ，國羽總共收獲5個半決賽名額 ，分別是女單、男雙、女雙以及混雙 。
女單方麵 ，陳雨菲淘汰奧運冠軍西班牙選手馬林殺入半決賽 ，馬林在2016年裏約奧運會上奪得冠軍 ，但經曆了傷病之後 ，現在狀態大不如往 ，雖然馬林開局打得十分凶狠 ，取得了10-6的領先 ，但明顯後勁不足 ，陳雨菲慢慢適應節奏，將局勢扳回 ，最終以21-18先下一局 ，第二局馬林同樣凶狠，但關鍵分階段陳雨菲處理的十分不錯，19平後陳雨菲連得2分，她以21-19拿下第二局 ，戰勝馬林 。
王祉怡則是三局惜敗安洗瑩無緣晉級 ，同樣打得十分激烈，前兩局雙方戰平 ，決勝局的較量至關重要 ，但中局階段王祉怡開始有些精力不集中，安洗瑩連續得分 ，將比分拉開 ，雖然王祉怡後程發力追趕比分 ，但最終還是以19-21丟掉決勝局，無緣半決賽 。

男雙方麵 ，劉雨辰和歐烜屹遺憾出局，他們的對手是印度選手蘭基雷迪和謝提，這對印度組合近年來成績逐步上升，也慢慢成為一對不容小覷的對手 ，劉雨辰和歐烜屹第一局以21-17率先拿下 ，同時第二局也取得了17-10的領先 ，但就在這大好局勢之下 ，印度隊發起了反撲 ，他們竟然連續追分，並且最終以22-20扳回第二局 ，劉雨辰和歐烜屹這樣大好局勢沒能拿下 ，也十分影響士氣 ，此消彼長 ，第三局蘭基雷迪和謝提越打越順，他們以21-9拿下決勝局 ，完成大逆轉 。
國羽另一對男雙梁偉鏗和王昶則是打得十分積極 ，他們的對手是丹麥選手拉斯姆森和索倫森，第一局梁王組合以22-20拿下 ，第二局也是十分膠著，到了最後的關鍵分階段 ，梁王組合頂住了壓力 ，以23-21再勝一局 ，拿下比賽後兩人也肆意慶祝，年輕人的衝勁在他們身上得到體現 ，同時他們也殺入半決賽 ，將麵對擊敗劉雨辰和歐烜屹的蘭基雷迪和謝提 。
