一句“臉都不要了”，业内讓老國足範誌毅和《吐槽大會》再次走紅，人士容同時 ，吐槽体育也讓這檔節目被推上風口浪尖 。大会大只定内繼原定於上周日（3月21日）播出的专场质疑第五季第八期節目（體育專場下集） ，“因剪輯時間不足無法按時和大家見麵”後 ，声太3月24日，弃原有多個信息源稱 ，业内該集將不再播出 ，人士容本周日的吐槽体育節目將播出新的內容 。
紅星新聞記者注意到 ，大会大只定内原定於3月21日播出的专场质疑第五季第八期節目 ，本應是声太這次體育專場的主咖 、著名籃球運動員周琦和郭艾倫的弃原回應 。雖然節目官方稱是业内剪輯原因導致該期節目無法如期播出 ，但不少網友認為，此次停播事件 ，或與節目中範誌毅對中國足球和籃球的猛烈吐槽有關 。

在當期《吐槽大會》中 ，已退役的國足運動員範誌毅與籃球教練楊鳴及脫口秀藝人對主咖郭艾倫和周琦進行了輪番吐槽 。尤其是範誌毅最後那句“臉都不要了” ，直接撕開了兩大球的“遮羞布”。
前男籃國手王仕鵬就回懟道 ：“那場球（世界杯對陣波蘭）對我們來說，其實是傷疤 ，現在等於是又拿出這個事來說 ，我覺得就是在我們傷口上撒鹽。我特別納悶，什麽時候足球運動員都可以去評價我們籃球的好和不好了 。”
新華社也公開撰文建議 ：中國籃球與中國足球不應“菜雞互啄” ，“自嘲之後 ，別忘了自省”。隨後 ，央視網評論稱 ，“這就是一個搞笑節目 ，它的主要目的是讓觀眾笑出來 ，不必動輒上綱上線。當然 ，娛樂節目也應該有底線。”
對於引起如此大的爭議 ，可能是製作方笑果文化也沒有想到的。有業內人士認為 ，這期節目引起的質疑聲太大 ，也引起了部分籃球運動員的不滿，在這種敏感的情況下 ，笑果文化隻能放棄原本準本好的內容 。不過 ，截至紅星新聞記者發稿時 ，笑果文化並未就此發聲 。
