中國足球需要足夠多的勇氣 ，來麵對流言蜚語 ，亚洲更要麵對和對手實實在在的流差拉差距 ，且要做好這種差距日後還會不斷拉大的距比心理準備 。
一球小負於日本隊，想象這或許是日后國足在12強賽第二場比賽中能夠爭取到的最好結果 。整場比賽 ，不断國足的中国足球控球率僅為30.4% ，射門次數為3次 ，亚洲是流差拉對手的1/6 ，而沒有一腳射正 。距比數據統計是想象複盤比賽的一個方麵 ，但也恰恰真實反映了國足和對手的日后差距所在 。鑒於對手的不断實力 ，國足在幾乎“放棄進攻”的中国足球技戰術之下非常被動 ，隨著比賽的進程 ，國足進行了調整 ，四名歸化球員同時出現在比賽中 ，但依然沒有改變場上的局麵和最終的結果 。這 ，就是赤裸裸的差距 。
麵對現實，國足主帥李鐵坦言 ，12強賽的前兩場比賽，讓球隊看到了與亞洲頂級球隊在節奏上的非常明顯的差距 ，更加清楚了自身的定位。李鐵同時表示 ，滿意球隊在本場比賽中的鬥誌 ，他也從比賽中看到了信心。不可否認 ，國足在對陣日本隊的比賽中 ，拿出了勇氣 ，也盡力了 ，但是實力差距擺在那裏 ，誰都無法在短時間內將它逾越。這 ，也是赤裸裸的現實 。
結束了本場比賽之後 ，國足將前往阿聯酋沙迦 ，備戰將於一個月後在那裏進行的接下來的兩場12強賽。而武磊則是先於球隊啟程 ，馬不停蹄趕往機場準備飛回巴塞羅那和西班牙人隊會合 ，他的背影看上去有些孤獨 ，在他的身旁 ，滿是旅歐日本國腳們的身影 。
還記得不久前 ，當國足殺出重圍闖進12強賽的時候 ，人們是多麽歡欣鼓舞，而當真正在12強賽的賽場上較量一番之後 ，我們看到的則是更加清晰的差距和殘忍的現實，前路比我們想象的更加艱難 。但這終歸是值得被好好珍惜的機會 ，沒有人會知難而退 ，正如李鐵所說的那樣 ，把12強賽每一個對手當決賽對手 ，把每一場比賽都當作人生的決賽 。
中國足球需要勇氣 ，當國足重新回到這大賽的陣地 ，正視差距是必須要完成的心理建設 ，放棄那些不切實際的白日夢 ，必須要做好長期麵對差距的準備，但我們誰都不應該放棄努力。這 ，就是中國足球要坦然接受的現實 。
