阿紮爾曾於2017年接受腓骨骨折手術 ，手术在手術中植入了鋼釘和接骨板以連接骨折部位 。安切阿扎2020年，洛蒂阿紮爾再次接受腓骨骨裂手術 。彻底出场事實上在去年 ，弃用阿紮爾就曾向皇馬請求再次手術以摘除接骨板 ，尔动因為接骨板讓他非常不適 ，不动但當時遭到皇馬方麵的手术拒絕 。
阿紮爾固然有請求手術的安切阿扎權利 ，而安切洛蒂也有自己的對策 。據西班牙記者José Luis Sánchez的消息 ，無論阿紮爾是不是要取出這個接骨板 ，亦或是他有沒有這塊接骨板 ，安切洛蒂都不會再使用比利時人 。José Luis Sánchez表示 ：“阿紮爾的賽季已經結束了 。”
此外 ，西班牙電視六台表示，阿紮爾將會在本周四接受手術 。而西班牙電視六台同樣也宣稱 ，比利時人在本賽季已經確定不會再上場了。
本賽季 ，阿紮爾隻代表皇馬出戰了22場比賽 ，打入1球助攻2次 ，出場時間隻有877分鍾 ，而他因為各種原因缺席皇馬大名單的場次同樣達到了22場 。
