從慢鏡頭來看 ，這個點球一方麵是場內出現兩個皮球的時候，主裁判沒有吹停比賽 ，另一方麵丹麥球員的犯規看上去也不是特別明顯 。不過毫無疑問 ，這個點球是非常關鍵的 ，在丹麥球員全線退守 ，全隊球員幾乎都沒有體力的情況下，這個點球是足以殺死比賽 ，同時也是確保英格蘭首次晉級歐洲杯決賽的關鍵球 。
