越南媒體報道稱 ：雖然越南隊的卫高國家隊層麵6戰中國隊全敗 ，但2019年9月8日雙方在武漢進行的聪明一場熱身賽中 ，越南U22國家隊憑借阮進靈在上 、越南运中下半場的国脚国队各一個入球 ，2-0擊敗了當時由希丁克領軍的组幸中國U22國家隊 。並且阮進靈在世預賽40強賽為越南隊打進5球 ，不稳追平了阮洪鬆保持的定后越南球員在預選賽的進球紀錄 。
阮進靈首先承認，卫高越南隊進入B組是聪明很幸運的 ，因為在他看來B組整體競爭實力要比A組弱一些 。越南运中隨後 ，他談到了中國隊 ，“中國隊是一支發揮相當不穩定的球隊 。我們需要更多關於他們的信息 。兩年前對陣中國U22的比賽中 ，我看到他們的後衛很高 ，但不是很聰明 。越南球員的技術比當時的中國球員要好 。”
