法爾克指出 ，怒众以馬奎爾 、拉什福德為代表的眾多英格蘭球員們，對C羅的行為感到非常不滿 。在英格蘭球員們看來，C羅在更衣室內組建了小團隊 ，他想要成為更衣室的主導 ，這會導致球隊更衣室存在分裂風險 。C羅雖然在曼聯拿過金球 ，但他畢竟在2009年就已經離開了老特拉福德球場。C羅把自己定義為更衣室領袖 ，但隊友們認為他隻是個“新援”而已 。
法爾克的這番話，在社交網絡上引發了巨大反響。作為法爾克口中的“反對派領袖”，拉什福德也承受著巨大的壓力 。在推特上 ，拉什福德趕緊反駁法爾克並進行辟謠 ：“我們已經到了可以被隨便瞎編新聞的處境了嗎？請停止製造分裂的行為 ！”
拉什福德進行辟謠，但法爾克並沒有就此罷休 。法爾克回複了拉什福德的這條推特：“你的話不是真的 ，你自己也清楚這一點 。”法爾克還特地@了拉什福德 ，完全不介意與曼聯10號進行直接對線 。
