本站比賽國羽女雙以鍛煉新人為主，派出李怡婧/羅徐敏、劉玄炫/李汶妹 、劉聖書/張殊賢 、譚寧/夏玉婷4對組合參賽 ，其中同為2002年出生的李怡婧和羅徐敏是第一次參加世界羽聯巡回賽超級300及以上級別的巡回賽 ，也是本賽季第一次亮相世界羽聯巡回賽 。
2日李怡婧/羅徐敏在泰國大師賽迎來了強勁對手——印尼組合庫蘇瑪/阿瑪莉婭 。2019年世青賽半決賽 ，李怡婧/羅徐敏以17比21 、21比23惜敗於這對組合 ，無緣世青賽決賽。如今3年多過去 ，印尼組合世界排名已經來到第18位 ，而李怡婧/羅徐敏在去年下半年才開始搭檔征戰國際賽場 ，直到世界羽聯越南國際係列賽斬獲冠軍 ，才迎來首個成人賽冠軍 ，世界排名僅在第115位 ，參加巡回賽超級300賽事還要從資格賽打起 。
3年來，李怡婧/羅徐敏與對手相比參賽不多 ，但是她們並沒有停止前進的腳步 。入選國家一隊後 ，兩人專注訓練 ，與陳清晨 、賈一凡等大姐姐一起訓練，水平在不斷提升，她們需要的就是能夠證明自己的比賽機會 。
此次再次麵對老對手庫蘇瑪/阿瑪莉婭，李怡婧/羅徐敏在首局開局2比6落後 ，但她們很快做出調整 ，連得7分 ，以9比6反超 。之後中國組合逐漸掌控比賽節奏，21比12贏下第一局 。第二局中國組合迎來較大考驗 ，雙方比分交替領先 ，一直相持到17比17平 。關鍵時刻李怡婧/羅徐敏下手果斷 ，連得4分，21比17鎖定勝局 ，贏下了這場重要的勝利，闖入八強 。
3日的1/4決賽 ，李怡婧/羅徐敏將遭遇隊友李汶妹/劉玄炫 ，後者大賽經驗更為豐富 ，雙方互相都很了解 ，對兩對組合來說都是一場硬仗 。
