上賽季兩隊同樣在歐冠被分在了同一小組 ，去巴結果拜仁主客場都是萨没3-0 ，雙殺巴薩 ，提前並把加泰豪門送去了歐聯 ，和说此番再相逢，穆勒马内重生的敦促巴薩亟待複仇 。
一個頗有意思的别传事情是，前拜仁的莱万主力射手萊萬多夫斯基在今夏轉投巴薩 ，並且迅速在西班牙豪門落穩腳跟 ，去巴在上一輪比賽中 ，萨没波蘭射手上演了帽子戲法，提前而在西甲聯賽中 ，萊萬也以5球領跑目前的射手榜 。可以說 ，正是萊萬的加盟 ，使得巴薩發生了翻天覆地的變化 。
在上賽季雙殺巴薩之旅中都有進球的穆勒 ，在賽前參加了拜仁的新聞發布會，並著重談到了關於萊萬的問題 。
當被問及與新援馬內的合作 ，以及拜仁目前缺少正印中鋒的問題時 ，穆勒表示 ：“在過去十來天裏 ，馬內一直在和我開玩笑 ，他說我得注意點 ，別把球傳給了萊萬 。我和萊萬之間的默契是一起踢球多年發展而來的 ，並不是天生就有的 ，不過這也都是過去的事情了 。”
“拜仁目前沒有正印中鋒。當我們沒有踢出理想的結果時 ，這當然會成為一個被攻擊的主要目標 。不過在另外一些我們踢得很好的比賽中，沒有正印中鋒 ，對手也不知道我們誰是得分手 ，這反而會使我們從中受益 。”
當被問及更多關於萊萬的事情時，穆勒表示 ：“我和萊萬的關係很好 。不過他並沒有提前告訴我他想去哪兒，以及他的理由。我們也隻是在媒體上得知 ，巴薩是他想要去的地方 。他事先並沒有和我們談論過這個話題，不過如果換做是我 ，我也不會這樣做 。”
“我通過即時通訊軟件和萊萬聯係過幾次，但我們現在畢竟不是每天都見麵了 ，我們之間的交流會變得比從前少 ，這也是很正常的事情。”
