而針對姆巴佩是否已經告知巴黎聖日耳曼自己要離隊的說法 ，法國媒體和西班牙媒體此前發生了輿論戰 。而西甲主席特巴斯也和西班牙六台節目主持人何塞普-佩德雷羅爾打起了口水仗 。此前佩德雷羅爾就表示：“姆巴佩轉會比哈蘭德更容易搞定，姆巴佩下賽季可能加盟皇馬 。”
西甲主席特巴斯在接受采訪時談及佩德雷羅爾的言論時諷刺道 ：“他可是皇馬主席的發言人 ，他知道的比我還多 。”而佩德雷羅爾卻奇葩的將特巴斯的言論當成了佐證自己觀點的證據 ，隨後在節目中表示自己的消息來源已經得到了西甲主席特巴斯的確認 。
