Another Halloween, another celebrity apologizing for an offensive costume.
Hilary Duff and her boyfriend, trainer Jason Walsh, received a lot of backlash this Halloween for dressing up as a pilgrim and a Native American, respectively (but notrespectfully).

"Sooooo the fake gun for my pilgrim costume came. Don't think it's quite big enough," she wrote. If only she'd taken that as a sign that they shouldn't go forth with their costumes, we could have avoided this whole mess...

Duff and Walsh posted apologies online yesterday.

"I am SO sorry to people I offended with my costume. It was not properly thought through and I am truly, from the bottom of my ❤️ sorry," tweeted Duff.

"I meant no disrespect. I only have admiration for the indigenous people of America," Walsh wrote on Instagram. "In hindsight I would not have made that decision. I apologize to anyone I may have offended."
I guess the tiny cartoon Lizzie McGuire conscience that lives in Duff's head was on vacation this Halloweekend.
