本場比賽為藍軍攻入製勝進球的杯决是後衛呂迪格，在第18分鍾，赛防芒特前場角球開出 ，入球呂迪格利用熱刺門將戈裏尼出擊預判失誤，钢铁以“回頭望月”的蓝军联赛方式後腦勺頭球攻門得手 。
這也是西第线已呂迪格本賽季為藍軍攻入的第3個進球 ，其中有2個球均是次进在對陣熱刺時打進，而算上今夜呂迪格的杯决進球，藍軍後防線本賽季迄今已為球隊攻入19個進球，赛防倒車天團的入球名號逐漸坐實了 。
在今夜憑借後防穩健防守外界“倒車發威”之下 ，钢铁切爾西最終完成本賽季對於熱刺的第三勝 ，同時也將連續不敗場次擴大到11場 。
在今夜淘汰了熱刺之後 ，切爾西也繼18-19賽季後又一次打進聯賽杯決賽 ，迄今為此他們9次闖入聯賽杯決賽 ，僅次於利物浦（12次） 。
而在冠軍次數上，切爾西此前共計拿下5個聯賽杯冠軍，僅落後於利物浦（8次）與曼城（8次） 。
隨著今夜強勢打開聯賽杯決賽大門 ，圖赫爾也有望率隊衝擊上任後的第三個冠軍 。
