12月22日晚 ，日成山東泰山隊以2比1險勝長春亞泰隊。都踢由於同輪廣州隊與上海海港隊以0比0戰平 ，申放球因此泰山隊在取得9連勝後，请开已經將積分榜領先第2名球隊的足协主办優勢擴大到10分 。下輪 ，也就是第2階段第2循環首輪 ，泰山隊將再度麵對河北隊 。由於在雙方首循環交手時，泰山隊曾以5球狂勝對手 ，因此外界普遍看好泰山隊再勝對手 。果真如此 ，泰山隊將提前3輪奪得冠軍 。
競賽計劃顯示 ，泰山隊與河北隊的二番戰將於12月26日晚在廣州賽區越秀山體育場進行。那麽一旦泰山隊提前鎖定冠軍，賽事主辦方會否在當場比賽結束後在現場舉行冠軍頒獎活動？答案是否定的 。
以本賽季中甲聯賽頒獎活動安排為例 ，武漢三鎮隊在12月18日進行的中甲聯賽第33輪 ，也就是倒數第2輪角逐中取勝梅州客家隊 ，從而提前一輪奪冠 。不過冠軍獎杯及獎牌頒發活動直到12月22日聯賽最後一輪浙江隊與武漢三鎮隊比賽結束後，才在梅州五華奧體中心的比賽現場舉辦 。本賽季中超聯賽冠軍獎杯 、獎牌頒發活動也將在聯賽最後一輪冠軍得主比賽結束後在現場進行 。而事實上 ，這樣的安排與上賽季中超聯賽相關安排保持一致 。目前 ，中超冠軍獎杯火神杯正存放在北京 ，賽事主辦方將在聯賽最後一輪前幾天安排專人將獎杯運送至廣州賽區 。
與上賽季一樣 ，受疫情影響 ，中國足協 、中足聯籌備組將不會舉辦2021賽季中超聯賽線下頒獎典禮。各獎項的評比將采用線上方式進行 。截止到目前 ，中超聯賽第2階段各組別賽事受疫情影響尚未對公眾現場開放 ，而這樣的狀況大概率將持續到明年1月4日聯賽常規賽事結束 。而明年1月計劃在蘇州賽區進行的超甲附加賽兩回合4場比賽目前亦沒有對公眾開放的計劃。
按照計劃，本賽季足協杯決賽將於明年1月9日在成都舉辦。賽事主辦方已申請將本場比賽對現場觀眾開放 ，但截止到目前 ，申請尚未得到最終批複 。
