《新快報》表示 ，城首由於各種問題的轮惨製約 ，廣州城的败本保级備戰期不夠係統 。另外 ，赛季在外援遲遲未歸的空前情況下 ，廣州城隻能以全華班出戰第一階段的粤媒压力賽事 。首戰麵對陣容整齊的亞泰 ，廣州城雖然打出了傳控的戰術特點 ，卻難耐對方一次又一次的犀利反擊 。最終，廣州城首戰失利，以1-4告負 。
