隨著日本隊2-0擊敗澳大利亞隊 ，日沙藍武士在本屆世預賽亞洲區12強賽前三輪輸掉兩戰的携手情況下，連贏六場就此連續七屆晉級世界杯決賽圈 。决赛
與此同時 ，直通洲队再度征战沙特阿拉伯隊也第六次鎖定了世界杯決賽圈的世界資格 。今晚23點，杯亚沙特阿拉伯隊將在阿聯酋沙迦與已經出局的全部圈中國隊交手。
今年1月27日，产生伊朗隊成為首支通過預選賽拿到決賽圈資格的伊韩亞洲球隊，這是波斯鐵騎第六次、也是第三屆挺進決賽圈 。
2月1日 ，韓國隊順利過關 ，自1986年墨西哥世界杯以來屆屆不落，連續十屆都能夠去踢世界杯決賽圈的比賽 。今年年底 ，將是太極虎曆史上第11次亮相世界杯決賽圈。
2022年卡塔爾世界杯 ，除東道主卡塔爾隊之外 ，亞洲區有4.5個席位。在日韓伊沙四隊直通決賽圈後 ，澳大利亞隊將與A組第三的隊伍於6月7日打世預賽亞洲區第四輪的比賽 ，勝出者於6月13或14日與世預賽南美區第五名的隊伍再打一場洲際附加賽 ，獲勝者仍可以拿到一個決賽圈入場券。（陶朗加）
