北京時間11月12日 ，英超英超官網發布聲明稱 ，官方英超20家俱樂部在對2024年後的家俱界杯國際比賽日賽程進行過討論後 ，一致反對國際足聯提出的乐部世界杯兩年一屆的主張 ，此外還反對一切計劃大幅增加國家隊賽事的致反計劃 。
英超官網表示，对世俱樂部擔心國際足聯目前的每两提議會對球員福利 、球迷體驗、年届季前準備和比賽質量產生負麵影響 。英超
英超聯賽首席執行官理查德-馬斯特斯表示 ：“英超聯賽致力於防止對2024年後，官方國際足聯對國際比賽日程所做的家俱界杯任何重大改變 ，以免影響球員的乐部福利 ，並威脅到各國國內足球賽事的致反競爭力 、比賽日程 、对世結構和傳統 。每两”
“我們對改革和新想法持開放態度，但它們必須加強各國國內足球賽事和國際賽事之間的互補平衡 ，以改善各級別的比賽 。這個過程還應該包括與聯賽達成有意義的協議 ，為賽事提供基礎 。我們將繼續與球迷團體 、球員 、各國國內足球機構和國際利益相關者合作 ，尋找對足球長期未來最有利的解決方案 。”
