卡塞米羅、优势托尼-克羅斯和莫德裏奇是皇马皇馬多年來的中場絕對主力，但是筹备克羅斯和莫德裏奇已經年過3旬 ，卡塞米羅明年2月也將到而立之年 。中场重建無論是锁定手握從年齡來看還是人員儲備 ，皇馬都應該加強中場的天才天重建工作 ，齊達內認為奧瓦爾可能滿足皇馬的齐祖需求 。
奧瓦爾今年隻有22歲 ，优势本賽季在24場正式比賽中打進6球助攻3次 ，皇马除了不俗的進攻能力之外，奧瓦爾在中場穩定的發揮讓人感到驚豔 。此前《隊報》透露 ：在維納爾杜姆今夏合同到期之後 ，利物浦想要簽約奧瓦爾來頂替荷蘭中場 。而尤文圖斯和阿森納在去年開始就要簽下奧瓦爾。
不過皇馬簽約法國籍球員有個天然的優勢，那就是齊達內的偶像光環 。此外皇馬和裏昂的關係也不錯 ，本澤馬、馬裏亞諾和門迪都是先後為這兩家俱樂部效力過的球員 。不過皇馬簽約奧瓦爾最大的問題在於轉會費用 ，裏昂為其標價6000萬歐元 ，如果皇馬未來簽約哈蘭德或者姆巴佩 ，恐怕沒有多少轉會預算再簽約奧瓦爾 。
而《阿斯報》則認為未來皇馬依然可以采用“錢+人”的方式簽約奧瓦爾 ，或者將幾位球員租借給裏昂 ，以此希望法國俱樂部能夠降低轉會費 。
