北京時間5月2日晚 ，国米冠在意甲第34輪比賽中 ，本赛亞特蘭大與薩索洛踢成了1-1平局 ，季意甲冠军第34輪過後獲得69個積分 ，次夺落後榜首的等待夺國米13分 。而本賽季的国米冠意甲聯賽還有4輪結束 ，因此這也意味著國米提前4輪贏得了本賽季的本赛意甲冠軍 ，這也是季意甲冠军第蘇寧入主國米以來 ，藍黑軍獲得的次夺第一個冠軍以及第一個聯賽冠軍 。
新賽季開戰以來 ，等待夺國米雖然在歐冠小組賽慘遭淘汰 ，国米冠但是本赛在意甲聯賽的發揮卻非常穩定與強勢 ，尤其是季意甲冠军第在進入到2021年以來 ，更是次夺一度獲得聯賽11連勝 。而在同一時間段 ，米蘭與尤文成績不佳 ，國米也得以在意甲積分榜穩居首位 。
意甲第31輪與第32輪 ，國米遭遇兩連平 ，奪冠勢頭有所減緩，但是隨即的兩輪比賽 ，國米分別1-0擊敗維羅納 ，2-0完勝克羅托內 。在34輪意甲聯賽過後82個積分位居第一 ，領先少賽一場的亞特蘭大14個積分。
在剛結束的亞特蘭大與薩索洛的比賽中 ，女神與對手踢成1-1平局 ，這也使得亞特蘭大在34輪比賽過後獲得了69個積分 ，與國米的積分差距為13分 ，本賽季的意甲還有4輪結束，因此即使國米未來4輪比賽全敗，也肯定可以獲得意甲冠軍 ，藍黑軍提前4輪贏得意甲 。
需要指出的是，這也是2016年蘇寧入主國米以來，藍黑軍獲得了第一個冠軍 ，同時也是第一個聯賽冠軍 。而這也是國米時隔11年後再次贏得意甲冠軍 ，上一次國米贏得意甲是在2009-2010賽季，在穆裏尼奧的帶領下，國米82個積分奪冠。
