雖然中國足協尚未最終官宣 ，足协主帅但國足主帥李鐵下課已成定局，已推扬科種種消息顯示 ，荐U接替京面李鐵口頭請辭，国足高层已經得到了中國足協的维奇初步應允。最快中國足協12月2日就將對外官宣換帥的李铁消息 ，而從目前的但更情況來看 ，李霄鵬接替李鐵的试李可能性最大 。
此前 ，霄鹏中國足協已經向國家體育總局遞交了詳細的足协主帅情況說明 ，這份情況說明中還包括了如果國足換帥 ，已推扬科可以臨時啟用的荐U接替京面“備選方案”。知情人士透露，国足高层這份名單上既有外界呼聲比較高的维奇本土教練 ，也有對於目前中國足球情況比較了解的李铁洋帥 。
土教練中 ，李霄鵬與李鐵同時參加過本屆國足主帥競選 ，並一度得到部分高層的力挺。洋帥方麵 ，國青主帥揚科維奇可能是一個重要的備選 。雖然揚科有帶隊出戰亞運會的比賽任務 ，但從時間上來講，屆時國家隊12強賽早已經結束，兩項賽事並不衝突 ，而處於備戰2023年亞洲杯和下屆世預賽的考慮 ，協會也有意啟動國家隊的年輕化，盡快完成國足新陳代謝 。
目前中國足協上報給體育總局的關於李鐵的報告中 ，推薦的國足主帥候選人是U22國家隊主教練揚科維奇 ，而此前更高層在京麵試的人 ，是現任武漢隊主帥李霄鵬 。
當然從體育總局的角度，在作出決定之前，也需要統盤考慮，有沒有主教練願意在此時接手 ？到底是用洋帥還是繼續力挺本土教練 ？接下來的四場小組賽 ，在小組出線無望的情況下 ，到底派哪些隊員去踢？年輕球員能不能頂得住 ？這些都是非常現實的問題 。畢竟此時接手國足絕非易事 ，雖然出線已經無望，但國足仍有責任維護中國足球的尊嚴 。一著不慎兵敗越南 ，中國足球未來的處境就會更加困難 。
