針對比賽中的图赫這一爭議判罰 ，圖赫爾說到 ：“我無法確定這張紅牌是知红否符合規則，但你必須接受這個處罰決定，牌否破坏我認為裁判看到動圖之後也許會改變自己的符合看法。”
圖赫爾進一步表示 ：“這張紅牌破壞了整場比賽 ，规则我到現在都沒有想到應對這種情況的裁判更好的辦法 。總之 ，比赛這次判罰破壞了比賽 。图赫我能理解這個判罰 ，並不是說判罰錯了。我隻是不喜歡裁判查看VAR的方式，不希望他隻是看了一張照片就判定這是紅牌。如果單單看圖像 ，那的確是紅牌，因為圖片上清晰顯示了裏斯-詹姆斯手觸球的那個點 ，裁判由此認定裏斯-詹姆斯阻擋了絕對的進球機會 ，這沒有問題 。”
藍軍主帥繼續指出 ：“裏斯-詹姆斯確實是擋住了一個‘可能’的進球 ，但實際上卻也是皮球偏轉出現反彈後的結果。我其實更希望裁判能夠長時間反複查看整個過程，我記得裁判解釋說 ，如果這是皮球偏轉出現反彈後的結果 ，那麽手臂阻擋的動作並非很不自然 ，那麽這就不應該是一個點球。很多時候 ，有些決定對當下的影響真的很大 。”
