至少對李霄鵬而言 ，圈定此次出征西亞的队内的也球員名單 ，是人士最容易的 ，同時也是救们己最難的 。
四名歸化球員 ，自己再加上過去很長時間一直作為鋒線核心使用的国足武磊 ，用“塌了半邊天”形容缺少了五名隊員的队内的也國足進攻線 ，一點都不為過。人士如此一來，救们己如何填補武磊等人缺陣留下的自己“坑” ，對李霄鵬來講顯然不那麽容易 ，国足尤其是队内的也在先後被裏皮和李鐵看好的韋世豪因傷一直高掛“免戰牌”的情況下。
海口集訓期間 ，人士國足總共打了三場熱身賽 ，救们己一直作為主力中鋒的自己張玉寧雖然沒有直接進球 ，但是在李霄鵬的戰術體係當中 ，他的作用卻是無可替代的 。圍繞著張玉寧，李霄鵬在經過一番嚐試之後 ，也基本確定了“張玉寧+劉彬彬+戴偉浚”為主的進攻“三人組” ，再加上後防線的“朱辰傑+蔣光太+張琳芃”組合 ，前後場的大框架基本搭建完畢之後 ，剩下的 ，就是在其餘位置上 ，放上最合適的那些隊員 。
看似並不複雜的“加法”，在缺少足夠能力和特點的球員的前提下 ，恰恰也是最難做的 。受疫情影響 ，過去兩個賽季的中超聯賽 ，采用的都是賽會製，尤其是2021中超聯賽第二階段的比賽 ，基本上是以三天一場的節奏 、在封閉環境下完成的，而且由於聯賽是跨年完成的 ，球員在缺少必要的休整的情況下 ，馬不停蹄地又參加了國家隊的集訓 ，與日本和越南隊的兩場12強賽比賽之後 ，再次經曆了為期三周的隔離 。也正因為如此，這一次的國家隊集訓，中國足協的領導 ，還有國足教練組 ，很大一部分時間和精力都放在了與隊員的溝通上麵 ，幫助他們調整心理狀態。
在李霄鵬看來 ，想要打好與沙特隊的這場比賽 ，除了在技戰術之外 ，更重要的，是在心理和精神層麵做好準備 ，用他之前的話說就是“必須能拚” 。“所有人心裏都很清楚 ，這次去阿聯酋，就是去打仗的 ，是去戰鬥的 。”雖然不被外界看好 ，甚至有人斷言中國隊會以四連敗結束12強賽 ，但國足隊內一位人士坦言 ，經曆過海口集訓的調整之後 ，每個人做好了全力以赴戰鬥到底的準備 ：“用隊員自己的話說，就是‘現在能救我們自己的，也隻有我們自己了’。”(東方體育日報)
