本報訊（記者 趙睿）國際足聯昨天確認世預賽亞洲區40強賽第二循環的国足競賽方案 ，朝鮮隊退出剩餘比賽之後 ，剑指决心其已進行的连胜留前五場比賽成績無效，在比較各小組第二的不变最終成績時 ，將排除與墊底球隊之間的想过交鋒成績。就A組的余地排名情況來看 ，中國隊的国足最終成績大概率是要減掉與關島隊比賽的結果 。
中國隊所在A組 ，剑指决心關島隊5戰全敗，连胜留淨勝球-17個，不变馬爾代夫隊5戰2勝3負 ，想过淨勝球是余地-4個 ，不出意外的国足話 ，關島隊將是剑指决心A組墊底的球隊。中國隊力爭小組第二的连胜留時候 ，在關島隊身上拿到的分數和淨勝球是要被排除的 。如果去掉第一循環7:0大勝關島隊的成績，中國隊僅剩4個淨勝球 ，未來在爭奪小組第二的時候比較淨勝球可能會處於不利的境地。在進行各個小組第二名比較時 ，規則順序是 ：A 、小組中的積分；B 、小組總淨勝球；C 、小組總進球數；D、公平競賽積分(紅黃牌數少者列前)；E、抽簽 。
中國足協主席陳戌源很早就定下第二循環四戰全勝的目標 ，目前沒有證據表明這個目標有所調整 。據悉 ，中國隊也沒有想過給自己留有餘地的方案 ，必須上下同心，劍指四連勝 。而且 ，在國際足聯作出了朝鮮隊成績“作廢”的決定之後 ，中國隊想要掌握主動除了四連勝之外 ，也沒有其他路可走了。
雖然如此，中國隊5月30日與關島隊的比賽也並非無足輕重 ，因為這場比賽加上2019年10月10日主場7:0大勝的成績 ，主要是用於計算本小組內的積分 、淨勝球情況 。中國隊不但要贏 ，還要爭取多進球 ，壓製菲律賓隊 。接下來6月3日對馬爾代夫隊的比賽 ，中國隊也是如此策略 ，做足了“前期工作”之後 ，再去拿下菲律賓隊和力拚敘利亞隊 。
國際足聯同時公布了截止到2021年5月的男足國家隊排名 。中國隊總排名仍列第77位，並繼續以1322.96分占據亞洲第九名的位置，與上一次公布時完全一樣 。
