雖然2021年金球獎已經揭曉 ，拜仁但是名宿名气外界對於梅西獲獎而萊萬遺憾屈居第二 ，還是谈金有比較大的爭議 。對此 ，球梅昔日法國國腳，西获也是奖因拜仁名宿利紮拉祖在一檔名為現任解說嘉賓的利紮拉祖在接受法國媒體Téléfoo采訪時，談到關於今年金球獎得主的大莱話題 。
在利紮拉祖看來 ，有望补梅西之所以“笑到了最後”還是拜仁因為他的名氣更大 ，“我認為 ，名宿名气與萊萬這樣的谈金球員相比 ，梅西的球梅名聲（對其獲獎）起到了很大的作用 。”當然 ，西获利紮拉祖認為梅西在2021年的奖因表現也不賴，隻是大莱個人數據不如萊萬華麗 。
對於萊萬與金球失之交臂，利紮拉祖透露 ，“如果我們必須重新平衡一些東西 ，那就是通過把2020年的金球獎頒給萊萬來重新平衡這種不公 。我聽說這有可能會發生……”
事實上 ，利紮拉祖的這個說法已經有不少媒體報道 ，包括金球獎的主辦方——《法國足球》主編費雷爾都明確表示，“萊萬是個出色的球員 ，不僅如此 ，他還是個很棒的人 ，他事前知道自己無緣金球獎 ，當時我也不知道他會不會來，但他就是來了，這展現了公平 。我聽到梅西說的 ，為萊萬補發金球獎 ，我們會考慮，但這需要時間來決定。”
