不過《每日體育報》仍然表示 ，同蓝雖然巴薩已經為阿斯皮利奎塔送上了合同 ，面续但切爾西擁有單方麵續約一年的條款 ，所以主動權目前仍然在藍軍手中 ，而切爾西也將會與球員的經紀人進行會麵 。
本賽季，32歲的阿斯皮利奎塔依然是切爾西防線上不可或缺的一員 ，各項賽事出場30場 ，打入1球助攻3次 。阿斯皮利奎塔與切爾西的合同將在今夏到期。目前，在德國《轉會市場》上 ，阿斯皮利奎塔的身價為1100萬歐元 。
