北京時間12月14日晚 ，巴萨北京本周布西甲巴塞羅那俱樂部發布公告稱 ，官方圭罗此前被檢查出心律失常 ，时间進而需要休戰三個月的将宣阿根廷前鋒阿圭羅 ，將在當地時間本周三中午12時（北京時間周三晚19時） ，巴萨北京本周布在諾坎普宣布自己的官方圭罗未來 。不過在公告中，时间巴薩官方並未透露阿圭羅是将宣否會選擇退役 。
根據《每日體育報》此前的巴萨北京本周布報道 ，阿圭羅會在周三的官方圭罗發布會上宣布自己退役的消息 。《每日體育報》表示 ：“正如過去一周媒體報道的时间那樣 ，在確認自己所患的将宣心率失常是非良性的之後 ，33歲的巴萨北京本周布阿圭羅將被迫結束自己的職業生涯 。”
阿圭羅在今夏與曼城合同到期後 ，官方圭罗以自由轉會的时间方式加盟巴薩 。阿圭羅原本認為自己能與至交好友梅西相聚 ，但沒想到梅西最終無法與巴薩續約，自由轉會加盟了巴黎聖日耳曼 。
禍不單行的是 ，阿圭羅在之後又遭遇了傷病 ，在相當長一段時間之後才傷愈複出 。迄今為止 ，阿圭羅隻代表巴薩有過5次出場 ，在國家德比1-2不敵皇馬的比賽中 ，阿圭羅打入了效力巴薩的唯一一球。而在10月30日對陣阿拉維斯的比賽中 ，阿圭羅在場上突發心髒不適並被立即送醫 。事後 ，阿圭羅被檢查出患有心律失常 ，並將缺陣三個月的時間 。
