在全隊狀態相當一般的情況下 ，曼城本場比賽可以說依靠B席和德布勞內這兩名核心球員的帶動取得了一場來之不易卻很重要的勝利。本場勝利也是曼城麵對伯恩利所取得的9連勝 ，在這期間藍月狂轟32球僅丟1球，可以說完全呈現碾壓之勢。不過本場還是有個小小遺憾，那麽就是曼城未能成為英格蘭足壇首支連續5個主場麵對同一對手至少淨勝5球 。不過三分畢竟是最重要的，在擊敗伯恩利後 ，曼城已經連續7輪不敗 ，而且6輪英超不丟球 ，他們距離目前聯賽不敗的利物浦隻有1分，英超的爭冠之勢正呈現出白熱化狀態。
