近日,小美迪士尼真人版《小美人魚》大電影扮演者哈雷·貝利(Halle Bailey)受訪時回應選角爭議,身為有色人種為黑人女孩傳遞正向價值觀義不容辭 。她表示:“我希望自己內心住著的人鱼小姑娘和像我一樣正在關注的小姑娘們知道她們都很特別,無論哪方麵她們應該都做個小公主 。她們沒有理由不是扮演 。這種自我安慰也是应选议对影响我所需要的 。”
據悉,《小美人魚》動畫版大電影中愛麗兒(Ariel)在動畫中白皮膚紅頭發的形象深入人心,因此該片選用哈雷·貝利飾演該角色爭議聲頗大 。此前,黑人迪士尼影視娛樂部門的工作人員針對質疑回應,在未來5年,迪士尼所有經典影視作品裏至少50%的角色必須為黑人群體、變性群體 、女孩無性別群體留出位置,估量而且必須是主要角色的,如歌劇版《美女與野獸》的女一號貝兒公主和真人版《白雪公主》的女一號白雪公主均為黑人女孩,該工作人員還表示:“這是迪士尼向世界證明歐美社會正確價值觀的一項宏偉計劃。”
