北京時間6月5日 ，據英國《太陽報》的尔卸消息 ，在新帥滕哈格入主之後 ，任队曼聯也存在著隊長更替的长德可能 ，而德赫亞則獲得了紅魔更衣室的赫亚获压壓倒性支持 。
消息人士向《太陽報》透露 ，倒性滕哈格在本月底返回卡靈頓基地之後，支持將決定曼聯新任隊長的也候人選。而在目前的马奎曼聯陣中 ，隊長的尔卸候選人主要有三位，分別是任队現隊長馬奎爾 ，以及C羅和德赫亞 。长德
《太陽報》表示，赫亚获压據內部人士透露，倒性德赫亞獲得了更衣室的支持壓倒性支持 ，但這並不意味著對馬奎爾的背叛 ，而是更衣室對德赫亞的尊重和信任 。
在曼聯內部 ，有人認為隊長一職是馬奎爾負擔不了的 ，若持續這種不公平的負擔 ，馬奎爾的競技狀態會受到嚴重的影響 ，而德赫亞則是縫合更衣室裂痕的最佳人選。
