按照目前計劃，本賽季中超聯賽最快將於12月27日落幕 。足協杯餘下各輪次賽事將在中超聯賽落幕後進行，意味著杯賽將鐵定跨年完賽，預計完賽時間約為明年1月15日。目前 ，中國足協、中足聯籌備組也在積極聯係相關賽區。受天氣及其它客觀因素影響 ，足協杯賽事亦有可能集中在個別賽區內進行 ，賽區也大概率會安排在氣候相對適宜的南方城市 。
